Re: Looking for a PM3 or 5
I just upgraded my Model D with a PM3 to a PM5 and will be selling the excellent condition PM3. If you're interested, let me know. I was going to post it to eBay, but am interested in selling here to avoid that hassle. Photos and video of the unit in action. Located in Chicago area and am willing to...

Re: Concept 2 and garmin 920xt.
I have been looking all over trying to find a way to output PM info into something that my Garmin Edge 500 could pick up, even if that data is simulated as bike data (spm=cadence, watts=watts, etc.)
Would love to see anything that does that. I just want to analyze my workouts online!

Re: rowing w/o monitor
If you have the mechanics of rowing down and can count your strokes per minute, a HRM (maybe a Bluetooth one like a Wahoo Tickr) that can be used with your smartphone will help you gauge effort.

Re: Is the erg the human-power-optimized machine?
From memory the feedback from cyclists in that the equivalent Watts on the Erg were harder to achieve, I may have that wrong but I'm sure there are cyclists here that can confirm this or not. This would tend to suggest its not optimized to get the best power, but hey its a better all over body work...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Did the C2 short WOD (5x1K pieces with rate changes) as a warm-up to the day on my Model B. After work, I'll get out for a good 90-120 minute ride on the road bike at tempo pacing. I did find that the WOD, which had me going from 28-24-20-24-28 SPM was interesting. I'm pretty new to serious erging, ...

Re: Argument against rowing early in the morning
Yeah, what's the deal with everyone rowing so early in the morning?? My guess (and the reason why I usually exercise in the morning) is that post-work commitments can pile-up and deferring one's workout to the evening runs the risk that other needs get in the way. I can always set my alarm 30-60 mi...

Re: Rower Has Got The Bike Bug
I will echo the others and say that without years of pack riding experience, your first race as a master racer in a crit or road race will be a very unpleasant experience. You gotta have the ability to jump repeatedly into the anaerobic pool and recover quickly, else you'll be spit out the back. Han...
