Clicking Noise Fix Sought
Hello Friends: My skierg has started making a clicking sound on each pull. I can't tell where it is coming from. It sounds like the clicking of a clock. Although slight, it is consistent and just enough to make me a bit nuts. It does not make the sound when I alternate pulling each side unilaterally...

Re: Skierg and back pain
Sounds like you have already effectively addressed the back issues that were nagging you. Great! Just a couple of thoughts which, if you have not already considered, you may wish to explore: First, the work of Dr. John Sarno. The stress of adding 10 years, kids, a career, and a hectic lifestyle can ...

Not an endorsement, (*yet") but sharing a resource I've learned of recently and that I am fascinated by. Search YouTube, Medium.com and the internet generally for, "Knees Over Toes Guy." Best to you!

Re: Long Slow Steady working well for me
Hello, Posted because might help others, have recently lost 11kg mainly by doing 1 - 1.5hr slow steady rides every morning with HR in low aerobic range (100-120 for me) followed by warmdown, stretches, and more recently - pushups - amount varies, sets of 10 total between 60 - 130ish, more stretches...

Workout of the Day Questions
Hello Ergers:
With respect to the C2 workout of the day service (short, medium & long,) is there any guidance on how to incorporate these into an overall training plan? (Which to use? Over how many days per week? etc.)
TIA

Re: After-market handle alternative
Thank you John! Certainly easy enough to DIY. It sounds like they were a "one hit wonder" in 2007 and then you moved back to the standard handle, yes? If my read is correct, given that they were quite nice, why did they have such a brief run?

Re: Thinking of adding the kettlebell swing to my KB routine
Remember that kettlebells are a sport to some people, whereas kettlebells are simply a means to an end for rowers interested in developing stronger posterior chains and better lumbopelvic coordination. When we use training methods from other sports, we should be careful to draw a line between techn...

IMO (and I don't consider myself, whatsoever, an "expert" and certainly not a "coach", but as a fitness enthusiast who did take a one day Pavel seminar in around year 2000 (just before his popularity caught fire,) and then, over the next few years, a one-day "Coach Certification" with (Girevoy Sport...

Re: Please advise regarding best media viewing setup
Thank you Allen, yeah, it's an old, but still works perfectly, color analog -"Non-smart" :-) TV. I wonder if there are HDMI adaptors...? I'm not adverse to upgrading this TV, I've gotten many years of good use out of it. I use a chromebook so the chromecast solution is attractive. I tried that once ...

Please advise regarding best media viewing setup
Hello Fellow Ergers: I enjoy watching programs while erging. I have an old television that works fine, with a cable feed, (I DVR shows) and a DVD box (I take movies and TV show series out of the library). I want to add watching NetFlix and Amazon Prime Video. I suspect I will "grow into" Hulu, Apple...

Re: Activity Tracker Question
Hey Cayenne! Which Vivofit do you have? If it's somewhere between the original and the Vivofit 3, you can connect it to an ANT+ heart rate monitor. (Garmin removed this feature from the VF4) Doing that, you can pick up on "Intensity Minutes" which I would suggest are what you're looking for versus ...

Re: Activity Tracker Question
Thank you Ombrax. Funny, after I posted this, I went to swim some laps at an indoor pool and thought, of course, I'd like that to be part of my tally. Anyway, I do appreciate your feedback, just wish there was a device that simplified this with erging, swimming, etc. With steps, I don't need to thin...
