John, I'm not sure if I understand completely, where should I be as far as drag factor using the 15 cog. I was planning on rowing with a reading of about 130 and then move it around to get a different feel every once in a while. Does rowing at different DFs change the distance of your row, or just d...

just an update on the DF readings, I covered the top of the erg with cardboard and duct tape, left both sides alone. Now the drag readings are: 90 with damper closed 130 with damper 1/2 open 160 with damper 100% open what a big difference!! The lowest I'd ever rowed with was 180 and to row today wit...

Thanks Bob, I had read a post a while back about covering the cage, couldn't find it again so I asked about it again. Yes I was going to cover the damper side of the cage and around the perimeter. I went online and looked at a C Breeze, not sure if it's for a model b though, I am sure I can construc...

how to lower drag factor
Hi All, I have a Model B with a new PM2 monitor.. I have posted before with the drag readings I get, 180 with damper closed, 215 with damper half open and 240 with damper 100% open. I can not get a lower drag than 180! Everything appears to be clean and operating correctly, I have used a Model D row...

Drag Factor Readings
I have a model B with a PM2(new) monitor, with the damper closed I got a 180 drag reading, rowed about 5 min, it read constant. Adj damper to half open and rowed for 5 min and drag reading was 215, then opened damper 100 percent and rowed for 5 min and drag was 240. Are these good numbers and what s...

distance to stroke rate
I've been working on the amount of meters per stroke, I find myself anywhere from 8 to 11 meters per stroke, is the distance per stroke a sign of good form? Also I find my self at around 22 to 25 spm and around 2:10 to 2:22 split rate, I"m using a Model B. I'm working on a harder/quicker drive and t...

Model B cord adj.
Hi All, I just adjusted the cord on my model b rower, but my question is how tight do you make the cord. I pulled about 3 inches back thru the SCAM and reassembled, works fine, but how do I know if I went to much.

pins and needles
HI ALL: I'm new to rowing and have been slowly increasing my time and distance. Now at around 20 minutes I get a pins and needles feeling in my right hamstring and down to my heel, right side only....after I get off and stretch for a moment or two I start back up and it comes again after about 3 to ...

Hamstrings
Hi All: I'm new to rowing but in decent shape, have been cycling 40 to 60 miles per week and play racquetball a couple times a week. Since I started rowing my hamstrings seem very tight, is this normal, I feel like I need to stretch them out constantly. I've only started out slow, 2000k the first fe...
