Re: Forum Flyers

I'll be doing a 2K race tomorrow in Massachusetts, and feel fortunate that the CTC chose this month to have 2K be the challenge.

Then I'll try to tackle the new website to get it entered.

Re: Future of CRASH-Bs?

It would be a real shame if CRASH-Bs fades into nothingness. It was the first of its kind, and all major championships owe a debt of gratitude to the organization for growing the sport to where it is today. They say that they will return in 2025, and I certainly hope that they do so, even if it can'...

Re: WRICH

I cant compete with Elizabeth and Joel, however finished in 8th of 20 for MHW60-64 breaking my previous personal best set in 2011. Finished with !:30.6 taking 1.2s off the previous PB. There's only an extremely small amount of people who can compete with Elizabeth & Joel, but your result is also fa...

Re: Lessons in Chemistry [book]

At first, I thought this post was mis-placed. I've not read the book but did a quick analysis to understand why it might be relevant. Apparently the author uses rowing as a methaphor, perhaps in not a positive light, but probably not far from what people might consider as "row bros". Here's a quote...

Re: Lessons in Chemistry [book]

Excellent book. It was my favorite of the 20 or so books that I read last year. Enough about rowing to keep any rower interested, and generally written in a style that's 'can't-put-down.' I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

Erg scores alone do not translate to being able to move a boat. Balance, bladework, compatibility with team mates and so much more can all humble someone who is a star on the erg.....
Hey! I resemble that remark!

Re: Rowing Faster on Water than on Erg?

Technique certainly has something to do with it. It's frustrating to me that several of the rowers who can't come close to me on the erg totally outclass me in a boat. I'm still working on squaring up my blade and dropping it in before driving with the legs, pulling all the way through before tappin...

Re: Alexandria results?

No Prague for me. I'd hoped to go, but didn't want to do it all by myself and couldn't get anyone excited about going with me. The window for virtual closed before there were any races that I could use for qualifying, and besides, I'm too much of a luddite to bother with virtual anyway. When I did t...
