When I say 'recovered' I don't mean - 'hmm, did I exercise today?'

Just that I'm not exhaused/shattered any more and after a couple of mins I can happily exercise again, albeit at a slower more relaxed pace - not another 10K though!

Thanks again,

Rob

Thanks agin for the advice LJ and I will take it easy. I'll stick with what I'm doing now, but not push too hard.

I certainly feel much better afterwards than I used to when I started, my recovery from the 10k is pretty good now I think. It's just doing it that's tough! Also, when I say '...

Well I'm very (very) new to all this, only 3 weeks in

I do 10K a day, 6 days a week @ around 41- 43 mins and then 30 mins on the elliptical. This is damn tiring for me!

I don't use an HRM and have never done in the past, but the ellitpical trainer has monitoring hand holds. I ...

Thanks LJ,

I tried the slow method on Fri, but am not really up to it yet + as you say I’m not 100% convinced that it’s the best way for me to train. If I do more reps I can hold my form and ensure that each rep is fluid and the same pace through out. With the super slow I begin to lose i...

Thanks for all the info guys, especially the detailed workout RowtheRockies

I think that some of these exercises might be a bit much for me at the moment though as:

1. I'm not that fit yet.

2. It's been a long time (7 years) since I did weights and I’m concerned tha...

I've been rowing for only a few weeks so far, but am fairly pleased with my results (losing some weight, muscles firming up - just feeling a lot better in general). My aims are to lose weight and get fit/in shape (as mentioned in my previous post) here:

<a href='http://concept2.ipbhost.c...

I dont think that the eliptical will hit any muscles that the erg doesnt, because the erg doesnt miss much. Even your face gets a workout from grimacing with pain from time to time

I know what you're saying there Ray!

Cheers and thanks for the advice,

Rob
Thanks for all the help.

I think I'll continue with my workout as is for the time being (another month maybe) and then look at possibly splitting some of the 10K rows into sessions of 2 hard 2ks and then a moderate 6k. I used to do 2Ks last year, but haven't since starting on the 10s.<br ...

Hi Guys,

I have just started to get back into shape again after 7 years or so of very little sport. I used to row a bit a school and used the erg at the gym at Uni for about a year. I find it a very satisfying machine to use.

I am 28, roughly 13.5 stone (haven't weighed for a c...
