Re: writing data to log card
Yeah, the pm3 is at 310, the latest being 315. I watched the screen and timing pretty carefully last night and played around a little. When the monitor writes to the card, a screen appears with an icon of the card, down arrows, and the int'l symbol for "dont"--dont pull the card, I'm writing. This s...

Re: writing data to log card
Thanks, both. I asked the question because I have started my rowing experience with rowing 2k's ( Select Workout->2k m ) and pressing the back button immediately when finished. monday it didnt save. I didnt pull the card too fast, and I know it was inserted correctly because I looked at the log card...

writing data to log card
Simple question. your workout comes to an end, you stop rowing... in order for the workout data to be written to the log card immediately, preserving your true elapsed time, do you have to push any buttons? The online manual (pm3) says that the data is saved to the card automatically, but I seem to ...

Re: LogCard Reader not working. Please help
posting to this thread waaay late, however I just had this problem yesterday with an Omnikey 3121 reader on my Win 7(64bit) PC. When plugging the card reader into my PC, the OS automatically loads the appropriate microsoft plug and play drivers . The Log Card Utility from Concept2 then recognizes th...

Re: Rowing for Kayaking?
I was taught to paddle by pushing, rather than pulling. Using your entire body, like a boxer. The power in a kayak paddler comes from the hips. In fact, the "pulling" hand really does little more than act as an oarlock. Always had good long distance luck with that technique.

Re: Newb Q - No resistance in first part of stroke
thanks for your encouragement, i can see there is a great deal of finesse involved. Now i know why all you old hands hammer on about putting in the seat time.
I knew at some point there'd be jargon to learn...what is shooting the slide? (Edit...nevermind, searched forum, found answer)

Re: Newb Q - No resistance in first part of stroke
Ok, so its me. First i checked the drag: 185@10, 122@5, 75@1 A little low, but not enough to take the blame. Next, i tried exploding on the drive, while keeping my spm <30...i lasted abot 5 minutes with a 2:04 pace at 27 spm I was gassed. The good news is, i found the resistance i was looking for. G...

Re: Newb Q - No resistance in first part of stroke
Jack, Thanks, I would say that it was almost no exertion. I probably could have gone on for another 20 except that I had already done 45 minutes of hard cardio. As I mentioned in my post, I felt no resistance until I was all the way back and started to pull. I have watched quite a few of the proper ...

Re: Newb Q - No resistance in first part of stroke
Thanks,
I could swear i am stroking correctly. I will check the drag factor later. I should probably post a video at some point. I will also attempt a more explosive drive and see if i can create at least some resistance.

hjs,
Thanks for your response.
male, 57, 230lbs 6'2", fit.
I will check the drag factor during fri, workout.
Daniel and you said the same thing. I guess I need to find some power in the drive, even if it feels like I am not pulling against anything...practice

Re: Newb Q - No resistance in first part of stroke
Daniel, Hey, thanks for the quick reply! I understand what you are saying. I tried being more explosive with my legs (while slowing my recovery). I tried being more explosive with my arms once I felt the "catch". I tried doing both at once. The 500m rate didnt seem to budge much. Argh. So, I take yo...

Newb Q - No resistance in first part of stroke
I am attempting to add rowing to my workout at the gym. I have been rowing on the C2 for a couple of weeks, mostly just doing 1 or 2k but never paying attention to my stroke rate, which apparently must have been pretty high. So, last night, taking some welcome advice from folks here, I did 20 minute...
