I've got mine up to 210 on a half hour but that was pretty uncomfortable. Apparently heart rates go highest on 20-30 minute rows.

For any person who works out the 2mmol aerobic threshold is of importance. By knowing this threshold a person c...

This sounds like what all my coaches say which is have a light catch and build the power. But this is also because it helps get a better connection with the water
Has any body noticed that if you start a few stroke early while you are still in the rest time the first two splits are about 20 seconds lower than they should be making the time much faster

I hope he's male if he can bench press 3 x 100 pounds. I would recomend learning to scull. One of my coaches reckened she learnt as much in 6 months of sculling as in 6 years of rowing. And hour ergs are good.

I get pain between my shoulder blades when I hunch my back at the catch. Once you have rocked your body forwards at the finish try to hold your upper body position completely constant until, and after, the catch.

Find a rowing club where you can learn to scull, this will improve your technique hugely. Bad technique is the main thing that will mark you out from senior rowers.

Here is a weightless circuit set that i was given it will work the quads mostly which won't make you look more muscular but it will make you row faster. Beware it is brutal the 10 minute warm up and cool down are absolutely neccessary. I hope this is helpful.

Format: Four (4) sets ...

Personally I find that doing a 2k with at least 3 other people all rowing in time and having someone shouting at me really improves my 2k time especially in the brutal 3rd 500m. I reckon it's worth at least 8 seconds.
Chris

Thanks Paul, I'll try that tomorrow. I can't remember the last time I did an erg and didn't try to go as fast as possible so being in less pain will be nice.
Chris
