Indeed.

I plan to complete a marathon today. I was trying to find a pace predictor. Meaning: Give a 39 min 10k and/or a 1.5 hour HM, what is a reasonable time estimate for completing the marathon?

I think I'll just take an easy approach to the first 1/2 of the marathon and th...

Actually, I do intend to do a marathon at some point. I sort of like doing half marathons and pushing that pace.

QUOTE(Ci...

It’s interesting.

First off, I figured I’d like rowing, but who knew that I would take to what appears from the outside as a completely mundane sport. I grew up in the wrestling/football sphere in Iowa – and then took to triathlons in my early 20s (it stuck). I’ve been rowing since I bou...

I'll join in the fun I suppose.

Short-term Goals:

1. Improve my 10k time from from 41:34 to 40:34 before 07.01.2005.
2. Row two half-marathons (at any pace) before 07.01.2005.
3. Row a full marathon by 08.01.2005.
4. Participate in one gorow.com class by Xeno...

FWIW, and it might not be much.

I'm surely not a disciple of cross-fit but some of what they say definitely resonates with me. Then again, I'm a believer that the more cross training, all else being equal, the better. As I interpret it, it seems their philosophy is if what you really wan...

Hi All,

I am a triathlete who has recently picked up the C2 bug. In fact, I purchased a model C on 03-14-2005 and have already put in 250,000 meters. I am curious how others use the C2 in preparation (and even during) triathlon season.

I've purposefully replaced some (~50%) o...

Hi,

Thanks for the thoughts already.

I thought about this some more after my post yesterday, and here's what I wonder. . .

To make things easier, let's consider running, rather than rowing.

Years ago, when football (american) season began, the entire t...

I am curious if anyone can explain why it might be that my 500M time is so much slower (relative to the field) than the remainder of my times? I’m in the 84th percentile (that is “top” 84%) for the 500, but I’m generally able to get in the 50-65ish percentile for other events. (See below chart for m...

Hi Dave,

As for half marathon -- I didn't have any trouble with a sore butt. But I did have trouble (particularly on the first half-marathon row) with blisters. On the hands and a nasty one on my heel from a shoe that didn't fit so well.

Solutions: I now wear rowing gloves --...

So, I'm new to the site and have multiple new Personal Bests, due to my continued solo racing against myself.

I understand that rowing is like swimming: The best thing about being new to the sport is not only the frequency of personal bests, but the significant time loss between one's ne...
