I could never exercise in the morning! No chance, does not feel good, I am not awake, the body is not ready.
430pm to 730pm is when I do all my workouts, also I walk an hour at lunchtime also, which is fine
I cannot see how people can workout in the morning, but everyone is different!!

Re: Rowing form video
Does it look like his knee's are rising a little early to anyone else? Maybe do a bit more arms and body before starting to go forward on the slide, that's the only thing I can see, and I am a novice newbie who just watches lots of video's!!

Re: New rower, hi.
Quick update, as previous posts have been saying, I'm focusing on the weight - now down to 95.5kg 18% fat, so getting there! I couldn't help but have another go at the 2k, brought my time down to 6:50, which I'm pleased with, although it wasn't an all-out effort, it was actually my warmup which turn...

10min warmup on the erg, lower body weight workout then did 21.3km in 30minutes on the wattbike. 290watts average over the whole event.
Lots of stretching

Re: New rower, hi.
Hey Jules, yes I feel the same way about the numbers. The 1k was done a little bit ago and I reckon I could beat that easily now, and also I'm quite a fatty up at 20+ % fat, so I'm not *that* heavyweight in terms of useful mass. Having said that, I do feel I've got an engine in me of a younger perso...

Re: New rower, hi.
Well I am 39 today but will be 40 next year when I hope to be racing so I have the year for serious training. 17:30 for the 5k is 1:45 per 500 pace. I will do a full 5k at top speed today or tomorrow to see where I am, the 18:17 was done while I was going for a 30 min and I went off to quick, but I ...

Re: New rower, hi.
6:30? That would be amazing if I could see that!!! LWT I never thought of that? At 98.6kg and 20.6% fat, I am over 78kg lean mass, even without any fat. This means I would need to lose some muscle maybe down to 70kg lean with 5kg fat? That would be 8% bodyfat. Is that ok? How much time is that 7kg o...

Re: New rower, hi.
Hjs, I am a bit funny, never done any competitive sport but I feel I have something in me. Always been fat, always, I have been up and down the weight for 8 years, up to 18 stone, down to 13.5. Did running to lose weight then got injured, shin splints, so stopped and put weight back on. Always feels...

Re: New rower, hi.
I did 8 x 500 @ 1min41 today with 1min inactive rests in between. Felt pretty good, last 2 were very hard, but first 6 it was flicking to 1m40 more than it was flicking to 1min42 I seem to be getting better quite quickly, is there any way to predict how far I could go? I mean I've still got plenty o...

Re: New rower, hi.
HJS, I think the 6:50 was a possibility if I'd have paced it better, but still learning! I went for a 30min time today but went off too fast and turned it in to a 5k which I went through in 18m17, could have been a lot better if it'd been the plan in the first place I guess, but it's a PB since I've...

Re: New rower, hi.
Thanks HJS - I think! :) it's my fastest ever so nice day for me - I don't know yet how to calculate the predictions for 2k but I will just keep on working and chatting to you guys, it is inspiring to read everyone working hard and making improvements. It is a psychological barrier to get past 7 min...
