Re: 15th NE2KC

Rick, thank you for hosting us again.

Obviously my preparation was not over-strenuous, but I just made up my mind that nine minutes is the new eight & participated anyway. I'm glad I did.

Good Luck in North Andover & beyond.

Holiday Challenge 2010

I hadn't erged in so long the batteries were dead and dribbling into the PM2. But two new AAs and a Q-tip later I was on my way.

18,000 meters = 86:31.7 (2:24.2)

3rd 6k = 28:11.8 (2:21.0) 2nd 6k = 28:55.9 (2:24.7) 1st 6k = 29:24.1 (2:27.0)

My collegiate coach used to tell us that rowing through ice was good for the catch.

But not so great for the boat, I imagine.

30 minutes elliptical to warm up

10 x 400 = 1:58.6 avg/1:58.4/1:58.2/1:51.3 (ctc)/1:58.5/1:57.9/1:58.0/1:58.1/1:57.8/1:58.0

As usual, somewhat (very) elastic rest intervals

Finished @ 202,686. Much more of a chore this year. I may be hitting that age where I can't laze around for 8 months and then pick up in November where I left off in the spring.

Congratulations to all.

I'm at 167k, just getting caught up again after missing 4 consecutive days due to an ice storm and the resulting power outage. I know, I know, the erg shouldn't require electricity, but my PM2 is broken, which means I need to run Ergmonitor through a computer, OR go to the gym, and the gym remained ...

Holiday Challenge 2008

Got the ball rolling today with a leisurely (as befits my lack of fitness) 15k.
