Re: How to replace foot strap
Did not need to split the rower. Did need to remove the Belly Foot Stretcher, by removing two 7/16" bolts. Thanks Ombrax for the pdf that says 7/16". Thanks, Carl for the guidance.

Re: How to replace foot strap
Edit to my prior post. I get what "split the rower" is. Split between front and back. Sorry, it must have been late and .....

Re: How to replace foot strap
I think "split the rower" means to disassemble as need be. I was hoping that I didn't have to take those boxes off, but I don't see any other way to get to the back. It only appears to be two bolts on each box, but you never know. I was doing this for a friend and thought the process would be easy.

Re: How to replace foot strap
Yes. You see how the new strap comes from behind and exits through a hole on the front. The end of the strap has a melted end (so it won't fray). That melted end is bigger than the exit hole. My guess is that if I remove the entire assembly, I can reach it from the back. What do you think?

Re: How to replace foot strap
Carl, the length of the strap is not the issue. I just can't get it through the hole. And the schematic does not help.

Re: How to replace foot strap
So you remove six screws and take off the cover. Lets say the right foot. Then you remove the old strap. Feed the new strap through a hole on the right side and under this "box". On the left side of this box you must feed the strap and through a gap that will feed the strap to the front. This channe...

How to replace foot strap
I have the schematic. I took off the 6 screws on the Cover Foot Stretcher and removed the Compression Member. I cannot get the end of the new strap through the opening in the underneath of the Belly Foot Stretcher. I can see it but I can’t force the end to come through the opening on the top. I susp...

Re: Rower is too hard to row
OP, here. Thanks for all of the interesting information on F=MA, S=1/2 AT^2, V=AT and Torque=Force times moment arm. No one mentioned A=9.8M/S^2. I am just some old slow guy who was trying to figure out why my home rower was so hard to pull. At some point folks were comparing my examples of 7:45 and...

Re: Rower is too hard to row
I appreciate your comments. You are thinking but you are throwing out odd ball options. No one is watching me at either place. No bungee cords? No seat friction. No fans installed that point at the flywheel. Could the drag factor be messed up? In other words, it says 130 but it is really 180. Possib...

Re: Rower is too hard to row
Bungee cord? Unlikely, as it is only a few Newtons in a 400+ Newton stroke (for 2:25/500m, if you go faster, you easily hit 600 to 800 N). One could easily check though: a luggage scale will do. C2 somewhere mentioned chain stiffness and bearing stiffness. Another unmeasured component is friction o...

Re: Rower is too hard to row
Thanks for replying. Yes, I check the drag factor before using in town and at home.
Your comment is exactly was I was going to try next. Lower the drag factor at home to see if that made a difference.

Rower is too hard to row
A few years ago, I purchased a Model E with a PM4 from a friend. He was the original owner. Date is 2262011. Firmware is up to date. Chain is oiled. Does not show any rust. No obvious broken gears or anything like that. Pull is smooth. I typically have the drag factor at around 130. It has 3.3 milli...

Re: Heptathlon
Thought I would try this. Dangerscouse gives a warning. I am being careful with those shorter distance events. Big warm up. Ridiculous amounts of stretches. In startup, have many tiny pulls instead of that big ole yank. PS. I don't know how to have the system automatically update my times in boxes b...

Re: Settings on SkiErg - What SPM do you try to maintain?
Thanks for the info. I was being cagey about the DF because I just didn't remember. Only remembered that the knob/fan was set to 8. Today I looked and 8 is about 110. I did a 2000 today in 8:12.4 and my average stroke rate was about 40. Sounds like my SPM is similar to what you guys have. Not an ins...
