Re: Wireless headphones?
...The only problem I have is that I sweat a lot, and occasionally have to take the headphones off to shake the water out of my ears. Still, this would happen to me whatever headphones I have... You can try to get one of those swoosh headbands, they are cheap and comfortable. They keep sweat away f...

Wireless headphones?
I used to use bulky over the ear headphones that died on me... Never really liked them, because it would get hot and extra sweaty. So, I am in the market for a nice pair of headphones, but there's a lot of those Bluetooth earbud type of headphones out there, it gets quite confusing... Some of them r...

Team boat slide?
Hello folks, I have a question about team boat slide, although I am not sure how many (if any) of you are familiar with the setup. I am an owner of Model D, and my wife and me are entertaining the idea of working out together by buying second Model D and using slides to join the rowers. The whole se...

Videos to watch while rowing?
I recently purchased 50 inch plasma TV. The idea of putting my Concept2 right in front of the screen did not come to me untill after I had the TV setup at home, and oh boy - I LIKE IT. Can anyone share what their favorite videos for workouts are? I want to hear some music and see some ripped bodies ...

Re: Workouts
The Pete Plan is: http://thepeteplan.wordpress.com/the-pete-plan/ and provides a varied work out. When I do the 4,3,2,1 workout, I have 1' rest for each 1k just completed and try and do each interval at an average pace 2S faster than the last. So 4k @ 2:05; 3k @ 2:03; 2k @ 2:01 and 1k @ <1:59. But ...

What's your weekly workout routine?
I been doing 10k rows 4-5 times a week for a year, but it is boring as hell and I just can't do it anymore. I skept two weeks because I got mentally tired from same routine... Anyhow, I am thinking of changing it as follows (I wanted to ask your opinion about this routine): 3 times a week (MON-WED-F...

My problem is that I am going for 10K row each morning, and I keep increasing intensity, boosting the dumper setting, decreasing time, etc. If something gets hurt, it just gets worse and worse with every day - I simply don't give it enough time to heal. First I had back pains - those gradually went ...

thickening the grip
Hmmm... The advice about thickening the grip is something I can try out. I used to use padded lifting straps back when I was lifting weights. The strap goes around your wrist and then you wrap it around weight handle and make it tight. I haven't try to row like that, but this would definately make h...

Finger injury?
I am almost at 1,000,000 meters and I developed pain in right hand's ring finger. It hurts at the base segment, under the finger thickest phalanx. The pain is felt during exercise and especially after. I tried changing my grip - that does not seem to make any difference. What's recommended way to gr...

Leaning back at the finish
I am approaching my first 1,000,000 meters rowed, and most of these I rowed strapless. I started rowing strapless after I developed pain in my left knee that would not go away. My rowing buddy recommended to remove straps off rower, and that resulted in knee pain going away to my great satisfaction....

Thank you for your responses. I was trying to do strength training in combination with rowing, but I found it to be too demanding. I mean I could not do 100% effort with lifting weights AND keep increasing my rowing distance at the same time. My body would just shut down, so I decided to just stick ...

How much rowing is enough?
I started rowing regulary on 10/24/2008. I worked up my routine from 2000 meters daily to 10K daily, it takes me 43 minutes to do 10,000 meters, and I plan to improve on that. So far I lost over 30lbs - my "start" weight was over 250lbs (250 is when I started logging my progress), and by now I was a...
