This may be completely up the wrong path, but I plugged in your 60 min piece into the Running Times Race Time Equivalent Calculator and came back with 24:38. That is a 2:03.2/500m pace and seems at least in the ballpark of a reasonable estimate. Perhaps some of the more scientifically minded folks c...

Thanks Dan. That's good insight into the differences btw. training for those two different sports. I guess another question I had in line with the first was whether there can be erging sessions that are actually counterproductive, or just not worth the time one puts into them. Could time one spends ...

Are easy sessions helpful?

Hey all, I have a training question that I'm curious to hear some responses to: Are sessions on the erg without a specific point at all helpful for training purposes? In my previous experience training as a middle distance runner, I enjoyed easy days every so often where I'd simply go and run at a p...

The balcony of my third floor apartment. The good thing about TX is that this a viable option for much of the winter. The bad thing is that it's not a good idea in the summer between 9am and 10pm. B)

Hip Flexor

Has anyone out there had problems with a hip flexor from rowing? I just started a few weeks ago and was making great progress, but took a week off when a hip flexor got really strained/pulled. Any ideas on how long it should be rested or when to get back on the erg?
