Good News – No new camera equipment for me in 2008

My kid brother suffered a major stroke Memorial Day, and was diagnosed with lung cancer four days later. A tumor, the size of a peach pit, grew to the size of an open fist when the tumor was removed September 14. He is totally and permanently paralyzed on his right side, and had a pretty rough month...

C2 Logbook Import Problems

Just installed C2 logbook, version 2.010. Before updatting to Vista last year, I put rowing.mdb in a directory that I normally backup. Just tried to restore data base, get message "Cannot find a part of the path c:\data\qa\backups\temp.rpb". Is there a workaround?

Concept2 has not even started working on Vista. Vista employs many restrictions on programming technique, installation processes, etc. It will be somewhat of a challenge to rewrite the LogCard utility, firmware update, and the SDK for Vista. I can confidently say that on Vista's release date of Jan...

With the exception of the Cape Cod Potato Chip water stop (mile 19), all the best water stops occur in the first 14 miles of the walk. That is one of the reasons why I do the full 26.2 miles.

The Vista drivers for the CardMan 3121 reader are available. I can tell you with 100% certainity that Concept 2 applications will not run on Windows Vista, and willing to bet it will be a year or more before C2 and RowPro gets their act together in supporting Vista. Pity, because every other piece ...

I feel like a Mac User after installing Vista

Bought a new PC last November, and had to buy the card reader for the log card because my new PC couldn’t handle the 20 ft of USB cable to the PC from the PM3. Worked fine until yesterday, when I installed Vista Ultimate. I was able to get the Vista drivers for the card reader, but RowPro will not i...

A Sailor's Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, the ship was out steaming, Sailors stood watch while others were dreaming. They lived in a crowd with racks tight and small, In a 80-man berthing, cramped one and all. I had come down the stack with presents to give, And to see inside just ho might perhaps live. I lo...

I live on a second floor one bedroom apartment and row on a Model D. In 2.5 years I only had a problem with one neighbor, who had her son sleeping on the couch in a one bedroom apartment downstairs from me. I normally row at 1 AM, and was so glad to see her move out. The bedrooms in the apartment co...

Procedure writers’ positions were going away and opportunities were bleak. We had five Maintenance Procedure Writers at Hope Creek. First one to leave was our electrical procedure writer. He went to security as a Supervisor. Next person out was our mechanical writer. He went to training. Just before...
