Re: LUNA-TICS TEAM ROOM: Year-round "Looney" fun.

Hello Team, I missed you all. I've been off the rower since August of 2017, courtesy of two (2) right rotator cuff surgeries. The first was in February of 2018, but it didn't hold. So, November 1, 2018 I did it again. It looks like coming back will be a slow grind. I managed to stay aerobically acti...

PM5 Error

I am currently at a site with seven (7) Model D/PM5 units. A few have PM5 errors that identify after every row. The common code is 46, -147. The machines fail to keep any recent rowing events in memory. The firmware version is 19, and hardware version is 340. Is it possible that a firmware update co...

Model D rework

I have an older (2007) Model D that requires some work. In addition to purchasing a PM5, I will be replacing the Chain, Shock Cord, Drive Axle Sprocket and 17 mm Bearing. I have downloaded the instructions, but have a question for our "veteran members" out there. Is there a desired order to perform ...

Re: Model D maintenance

Thanks Carl. I've always kept the chain lubed in accordance with C2 guidance. I'll order the shock cord (and PM5) tomorrow.

Model D maintenance

I have a Model D purchased in the fall of 2007. It has been used quite a bit, except for three 9-12 month periods when I was out of the country. I spent some time on a Model E this morning, and was amazed at how "tight" everything was. I suspect that either my chain, shock cord or both are fairly we...

I'm not in the best rowing shape, but I would love to contribute to the Fall Challenge.

Okay team,
I'm back, and here to work with you all for the greater good. I've been biking and running, but something was missing. Oh yeah. Meters. I should have known. It took a trip back home to figure out what was lacking in my life. Let's go! :D

Kona,
Thanks for your patience. Internet access has now been restored. I'm back with (hopefully) a vengeance.
By the way, paper logbooks stink.

Noise on the Drive

I have a "ratcheting" type noise only on the drive portion of the stroke. My Model D is about 4 years old, and is not used that often. I assume it to be the "one way bearing" that is mentioned quite often in the Forums. The schematic shows 2 bearings, a 17mm (item 54) and bearing R8 (item 56). Which...

Re: Concept 2 Mod C - Sell or Keep

Keep the Model C. Buy a new handle and/or monitor if you want, but the C is a more of a bargain now than it was 15 years ago.

Re: New Model D break-in period

Thanks for all the inputs. It does appear (feel) like a Shock Cord Issue. There does seem to be excessive tension on the handle. I will do some tests, and make an adjustment if necessary.

Re: New Model D break-in period

OK. Ill try to cover all the responses received so far. My Model C is in Iraq. I will probably meet up with it (unfortunately) this summer. My original Model D is at my home in upstate New York. I'm on the road constantly, so I sprung for a new Model D to travel with. The drag factor on my two older...
