Mmm, did you talk to your pt ? They usually have rowers in PT places so they may be able to show you exactly what to do. I don't have knee problem however the only thoughts I have on the issue would be to keep your damper low and maybe not having your seat come up to close to your feet (so your legs...

Thanks, I did look at the ranking section. I guess I was just curious what the heights were for those people. I wish they had those listed! I was surprised about how close everyone's times were. They are nearly all within about 5 min of one another. I don't think a small change in height would mean ...

What are your times ??
I am wondering what everyone's times are for about 5 k. I just ask because I can't compare myself to a lot of people because I am shorter (5'3"). I am a lightweight also. Some of the men are getting such impressive times but they are nearly 6 feet tall. I did a 5 k in 25:35 yesterday. Not that great...

John: I am confused by your statement about trying to restrict my leg movement. I am not trying to restrict my leg movement. If you are referring to me trying to lower my spm, I tried to do that as I was told that it is easier to keep better form and therefore a more effective workout. although my s...

I guess I just heard you can row without straps and tried it and was able to do it! I think that I must push my heels down on the heel thing attached to the plate and that prevents me from flying off. I do find it a lot more comfortable than rowing with straps. My scale at home also says I am the sa...

Sorry it took be so long to respond: anyways I DO row totally strapless, so it is possible. I do not even have the strap loosely around my feet, i place my feet on top of the straps so they are under my feet actually (and kept out of the way). my total choloesterol is 162, hdl (good) is 64 and trigl...

Thanks, I don't drink much pop or fruit juice and all my coffee is black (no sugar or cream) My lunch is usually fruit and a sandwhich or left-over dinner dinner is one serving of whatever meat we are having and salad or some veggi. I do tend to get really hungry in the morning. My granola bar is on...

Thanks, I did forget to tell you the intensity. I start with a five min warmup then move up to moderate level (maybe 2.40 - 2.30) for 10 min. Then I really push it for about 5 min, then back to moderate about 10 min and then go harder for about 5 and then cool down. my drag is set about 3, if that m...

Need help w/ fat/muscle weight
I am newer to rowing (just bought my rower 3 months ago) I have an elliptical that I used five days a week for at least 30 min and wanted to get a second piece of equipment to work with. Now I alternate between the ellipital and rower (about 5 days a week, 30 min). I also do a little bit of weight t...

Thanks for the suggestions. I did feel that I was using my legs however because of the other exercises I do, my legs are strong. My arms are not flabby but they don't get much of a workout usually so I think that is why they were sore first. I did realize that I was depending on my arms a little too...

Newbie, need some help
Hi, I just received my new Model D yesterday and gave it a try out! I am active and have an elliptical that I use every other day. I wanted some variety in my workout and remember the rower from my college days and decided upon that as it is very different than my elliptical. I took is slow yesterda...
