Hi All,
My entry for this month’s CTC seems to have doubled up and thrown the other boats out of whack too. I have notified the authorities and hopefully it will be rectified asap!
Cheers,
Debbie

Re: Forum Flyers
Well done! Glad you’re on the case, I didn’t know who to contact. Every seat counts and it’s always helpful to see who needs to jump into a boat!jackarabit wrote: ↑April 17th, 2024, 3:52 pmJust checked the CTC and boat 4 is restored to the list of unfloated boats. Still needs one hwt for full complement.

Re: Forum Flyers
Debbie showing up in APRIL? Great timing! Wish I could do 9’ 2k! Thoughts on Mr. Baucom. Master of the Nonathlon, age-defying evergreen! Better late than never eh?! :D I used to avoid 2Ks like the plague but in truth I think this month is harder. Halfway through and I thought when will it end! By t...

Re: Forum Flyers
Thank you Anna, pleased to be back and hopefully I will get a few metres under my belt. Too late for this season but I would like to think I can get a decent amount in from May onwards.AnnaRaeGreen wrote: ↑April 6th, 2024, 11:36 am
And welcome back to Debbie (and her new hip )

Good that there are 3 boats now afloat!

Re: Forum Flyers
Hi All, Just thought I’d say a quick hello. Back rowing after a hip replacement op just over a year ago. I tried a 2K last month for the March CTC on zero training hoping to get somewhere near 9mins and I just squeezed under. :D Felt really good until I realised that I used to do HM at the same pace...

Re: Forum Flyers
Welcome JMurray
Wow there are some cracking times/results on this month’s CTC. I must admit I haven’t rushed to try it yet. Short but painful!
I was impressed to see Chris’ list and that I have completed 103 CTCs Good to see you’re keeping tabs on us Chris.

Re: Forum Flyers
Thanks for the advice! I am thinking such lofty thoughts about doing more than one Hm to build up to the full, so perhaps I can try some of these tricks. I had intended to take breaks at about the 7-ish K marks, just for water or a hydration gel or a quick stretch. A lot of the videos about maratho...

Re: Forum Flyers
:D I didn't bail Kept my HR at 120 average, and slow rolled it. I know I can get through this weekend's 10 and 11 with no issues, but next week should be interesting. I'm really going to try to nail this streak! It might feel both great and really weird to NOT row on the 16th, LOL, I must admit tha...

Re: Forum Flyers
For guys your build rate 20 work is very tough. If running is your main goal, getting a stronger stroke is maybe not the wise option. Running and rowing are both on the opposite side of the endurance spectrum, rowers being tall and relative heavy, runners smaller and certainly light. A good heavywe...

Congrats to Sheena on the Concept2 World Erg Challenge. She broke 500K with still 7 days to go...and it looks like 100% on the rower! Well done Sheena! However it looks like you are to blame for scaring away Freddie...he could not match the numbers you are putting up :-) —Marc That is incredible, w...

Re: Forum Flyers
Lots of fun in the new team Freddie!! Ugh, I fell down the stairs on Monday and am sporting the biggest, sowllen, now dark purple bruise in town on my left thigh. s Thought I can wing it as it's not the behind, but ouch no. Sorry no meters from me this week. I am enjoying all the discussion on the ...

Re: Forum Flyers
On a different topic, I found the CTC really hard this month. I normally row best at a high stroke rate so 20 spm was well out of my comfort zone. I could hold the pace without too much trouble (by pulling every three seconds) but could not develop any power. I managed 2362m at 20 spm but can go we...

Re: Forum Flyers
Started supplementing my workouts with runs, pushups, ab work, and some weights and now it's hard to hold my previous paces. Maybe I'm generally worn out and just need to allow time to adjust to different work? Thought these things would help strengthen complementary muscle groups. Wish there was a...
