Cheers Dwayne - I believe I can get down to maybe even just under 5:40 but the gains are going to be hard fought from now on. I think my current form is around 5:44 on a good day so still some way to go though.

Here is your PM from shortly after you did you 2k.

<ta...

Dwayne, you were kind enough to send me a summary of how your 2k went. It would probably be something that would interest a lot of people so would you be ok with me cutting and pasting it into this thread. It was sent as a PM though so I will only do so if you are ok with it.

I so nearly ...

Dwayne, I think most people would be interested to hear how you approached the row and how it felt? Do you think that you could have gone any quicker? What were your splits and spm? Did it feel any different having not done any specific race pace preparation? What was your target before you started ...

My time from the British Indoor Champs (November) has not been entered yet - they normally find their way onto the rankings before the end of the season but it would be nice to have spent some time at the top before Dwayne rained on my parade. ;o)

OK, I understand about the running around thing - you've probably got enough on your plate.

I'd be disappointed if a time done in a proper race would not count as a world record though - if you raced and went as quick as you did this weekend, I would be very disappointed if C2 did not rec...

Fantastic time. Hopefully we will get to race at some stage. I reckon it would be a decent scrap!

Is there no way that you could do a 2k at the AIRC - even a 95% effort would get you a world record. Now surely that's got to be attractive? And well deserved! It would be a shame if your per...

I don't use a logcard as I filled it and then it didn't seem to want to delete anything. I will see if they are still in the memory though.

Dickie - I did notice that my 2k from BIRC was not listed for some reason but that will find its way on there at some stage.

Other than that, I tend not to row any of the specified distances - certainly not flat out anyway. I only do 500's and 1k's as part of interval sessions, and never ...

He said 'I find this from' ... I didn't take that as to mean that Robert had given him the information, more that he had found information originating from Robert. If he had been suggesting that Robert had told him directly, he would have said 'I find this out from'. However, I can see that this is ...

mpukita

I didn't interpret Chad using the Robert Brody quote in the same way that you did - I thought that he was just referring to the fact that he subsequently found out that Brody had parted company with C2 so could no longer follow that line of enquiry. That's how I understood the pos...

Congratulations Dwayne. An awesome time considering your lack of specific preparation. Will you be racing the Open or the 40-49 in Boston?

This is a poll - some people vote yes, some people vote no but people should not be criticising, questioning or debating people's votes. It discourages people from even posting in the first place if they know that people are going to jump on their opinion. I don't see why there would be a need for a...

Ralph has a very good point. One of my main ambitions is to be faster over 2k than Sir Steve Redgrave. I believe his fastest 2k time was 5:46.7 ... the 30-39 British record until Matthew Pinsent went 5:42.3. My fastest time is 5:46.9 so I am still 0.2 seconds away from arguably the world's greatest ...

I voted NO - I think the thread escalated but ultimately he was just looking to rationalise what is an unprecedented situation - dominance in performance terms by someone very few of us have seen row at all and noone has seen row to that level. When someone performs beyond what is commonly accepted ...
