Hi, I'm pretty new to erging, just started consistently in January at my local Y. But, I'm years and years of struggling hard with weight issues. Since beginning to exercise and eat better in March 2006, I've lost 69 pounds and become much, much healthier and more fit. I still want to lose 12-15 pou...

Thanks for congrats, John! It's really nice and I'm glad I finally just broke down and got a new one. I like very much being able to just get on the thing and ROW when it fits my schedule instead of having to try to get on one at the Y when they are so often both occupied. About RowPro VCSVBB: What ...

I think the UPS guy hides behind the bushes and as soon as he sees you leave for work, he rings the doorbell! Fortunately for me, my husband was around to receive the delivery. Otherwise it would have been left with my 83-yr-old neighbor. Mine's going real well, and I got RowPro demo going just fine...

It arrived and it works!
Hi everyone, My new "D" arrived today, 10 minutes after I left for work to put in a 10-hour shift. So I had to wait till after 10 pm to put it together. From start of assembly to formatting log card and rowing, it took 16 minutes. Assembly was very straight-forward. I haven't yet gone over it with a...

Thanks friends for the advice. I do drip when I erg for more than 15 minutes, so the floor's surface is a concern. I am planning anyway, when I can get around to it, of taking up the carpet, laying wood laminate flooring in that room so I can better do my Pilates/yoga stuff, then will need to think ...

Protecting carpet/C-breeze question too
My "D" is due to arrive on Friday. I am getting its space ready, and wonder what others might recommend for putting under the erg. The floor has nice cushy carpet on it. I was wondering about: 1. Rubber-backed little carpets that go on the floor in the rear passenger seat of a car, such as the inexp...

Thanks! And you mention RowPro -- haven't gotten to thinking through/researching things seriously, but want to check out RowPro, iRow, PMAX, etc. Any "reviews" on these tools/programs are welcome. I'll write a separate post to start the thread -- later! This weekend is maxxed out. Problem with seein...

I Finally Did It...
Hi Friends, Well I finally did it. About 3 minutes ago I clicked the "Submit Order" button on the Concept2 shopping site. Goodbye piggy bank rattlings, hello brand-new Model D and seat pad! I'll let you know when it arrives! Meanwhile thanks to everyone for the encouragement and information ...

Hi Bad, Some weeks ago I rowed 17K, without getting up at all, and when I finished I had two totally raw, silver-dollar-sized sores, one on each side of my bum. That day I determined to begin exploring different fabrics for interfacing skin with erg seat. I'm just now starting to do long distances a...

My Phunny, Forever-Ongoing Weight-Loss Journey! In March 2006 I darkened the door of a fitness facility for the first time in my life. At 52, I waddled into my local YMCA and huffed and puffed up the stairs to the Fitness Floor. At 5'5" and 217 pounds, I was the heaviest, most out of shape, most dis...

Am I understanding from your post [badoctor] that the stress brace is simply standard addition to the manufacturing now? I had assumed that the weakness itself would have been corrected so that the kit was no longer necessary. My impression, or assumption, was that the weakness was a design, or manu...

Thanks everyone -- these responses have been very helpful and informative. The one being offered with the brace installed, with shipping, was $835, the seller's best price. Box and shipping were $135. At that price, obviously I'd add in the $55 extra and go for a new D without the brace. Anyway, I'l...

Model D with "stress brace"
Hi Friends, I am still shopping for a used rower. I'm emailing someone selling a "like new" model D. His machine is one that Concept 2 issued the brace for because of a stress weakness. I've never seen one of these, don't know what it looks like, don't know if this machine should be avoided, etc. I ...

Thanks Pam for your knowledgeable input, especially all the info on the B model. I think I've about decided to save for a D unless I can find a really excellent-condition C for $550 or less, including shipping. Shipping really jacks up the price. You're in Norman, I'm in Tulsa -- know anyone with a ...
