Ergmate - just released!
Powertwenty.com Check out this great new 3rd-party app for the PM3/PM4. Ergmate is a Windows application that plays sound clips in response to your workout. For example, say your doing a 2000m piece: you hear an official call the start, your cox then calls the first five strokes, and then some hard...

I don't know how I can state my case any more clearly than I have in the previous two posts, so I won't. Instead, let me simply repeat the major points: Invested energy is totally lost once the PM3 reaches C2's arbitrary 6 second time-out. This can be prevented by a "handle-wiggle". "Handle-wiggle" ...

My point is that there is a significant amount of invested energy in the fan's momentum that is simply lost upon resting. The meters suddenly stop rolling off - there is no gradual deceleration. Whether or not the PM3 is boat-accurate is irrelevant. The "handle-wiggling" technique proves that the PM...

PM3 gripe: resting = lost meters
During my marathon row last night, I became increasingly aggravated by the way the PM3 handles rests. I rowed 9:15 on, :45 rest - were the rest was spent standing, stretching, hydrating. Within a few seconds of getting off the erg, the PM3 decides that I've stopped rowing and stops the meters from r...

FYI: I called C2 and asked. The official word is that the standard configuration handles people with an inseam up to 36 inches. They also offer an extended rail (costs $50 extra, no change in shipping) that adds five inches Thanks for the tip! I'm 6'9" with a 38" inseam. I have to be sure to set my...

Thanks for the tip on TightVNC. I'm currently testing "Yugma - Skype Edition" - free screensharing for up to 10 users.

Well, I've only had a chance to perform some limited tests with USB@nywhere + PM3: It DOES allow the Concept 2 LogCard Utility to see a remote PM3 and download workouts as if the PM3 was connected locally. Venue Racing also sees the remote PM3, but I haven't been able to do any test racing as I only...

Thanks for the replies! ChrisH: I haven't had the chance to try C2's slides, so I can't offer a comparison. I'd say the "ride" is compatible to the model A experience. :) PaulS: C2's casters are designed to support the entire weight of a model C across 2 wheels while moving across a wide range of su...

$20 DIY slides
Disclaimer: The following has not been tested thoroughly. What works for me might not work for you. Individual results are not guaranteed. When in doubt, buy the real thing. Background: The Concept 2 slides have been on my wish-list for a while, but I just couldn't justify spending $258+SH. A cheap...

Tachometer
After spending some time on a model A, I've come to appreciate the analog visual feedback the original bike speedometer provides. During the drive and recovery of each stroke, I can watch the "hull speed" accelerate and decelerate - something completely missing on the PM1 - PM4. For an on-the-water ...

Venue Racing + USB@nywhere?
I'm curious to know if anyone has tried C2's Venue Racing application with a "USB over network" software solution such as USB@nywhere (www.intellidriver.com). This looks like it could be a low-cost internet racing solution.
