Ok, so I came across the 10% training rule. Dont increase time or weight or whatever by more than 10% a week or you risk injury. So since im going to row 3X a week, im going to shoot for a 3% increase in distance per row which put me just under 10% a week. I tempted to go 5% a row cause I need to ge...

Ill be 40 soon and am in average shape, and carry about 8-9% body fat. I wish to constantly improve each row by just a little. What is a realistic percentage increase per row without over training? I will be rowing tue, thu, fri Mon/wed is wrestling night - my high intensity workout nights Fri/Sat = r...

I was about to disagree, but after thinking about it, I like that suggestion. If I row based on time, I will always get a 60 min workout, no matter what, and can work on improving my distance a little bit every workout. If I do what im doing now, my workouts will progressively get shorter and shorte...

Rower kicking mah A**
Have only used my C2 like 3 times now. Today I decided to try my first long row as part of my new cardio program. DAMN this thing makes it obvious how out of shape you are  I thought I would do a real slow easy 10K to start.... HAHAHAHHA After 2K I decided, better make it a 5K LOL Then realized...

Ok, so I wrestle 2 times a week which I consider high intensity. So im thinking maybe long rows or lower intensity on in between days for recovering and building aerobic endurance may fit the bill. So something like monday - wrestle tuesday - long slow row wed - wrestle thu - long slow row fri - lon...

Actually im 40 :) I realize there is a lot more to rowing technique now. I watched all the technique videos and its going to take me some time and practice to get it down so I cant really do sprint stuff yet in good form. I take the technique part very seriously, I cant afford to get injured. The th...

Need custom training program suggestions
I'm a wrestler. But ive been out of it for a while and my cardio sucks. We do 5 minute matches and they are explosive. I typically do five 5 minute matches and want to puke and gas out way too early. We get 1 minute or less break between matches and then rotate opponents. I have a very small gas tan...

I see in the VO2MAX FAQ it states Q. What damper setting should I use for my 2k test piece? A. You should use the damper setting that enables you to get the best 2k result. This is how it was done in the study. Wouldnt everyone just set it to the lowest setting??? This doesnt make sense to me. Or do...

I checked out the VO2Max calculator here http://www.concept2.com/us/training/tools/calculators/vo2max.asp and plan on using it to setup a row program for myself. Just got my rower yesterday and am very excited. These things TOTALLY ROCK!!! Anyway.... I plugged in my age, weight, and some example tim...

Are you inserting the card all the way into the monitor? The first time I used mine, I didn't realize that the bottom of the card should be flush with the bottom of the monitor, so it wasn't recognized. YES!!! Thank you, that worked!!! All the pictures show the card inserted up to the C2. Right at ...
