A Glove Option
I found that paddling gloves work well for rowing. They are like cycling / weight-lifting gloves, but have a very thin pad on the palm. I bought a pair from NRS years ago and still use them for almost every row. I'll still get calluses, but I have not had any serious blisters in years. I like gloves...

I just rowed a marathon this weekend. I find the hardest thing to fight is the boredom. In the summer I cycle - I can change the route, see new scenery, etc. The erg can be real boring. Just thought I'd log in and say Hi. For those of you doing long time in the seat, the Concept2 seat pad is great. I have been using them for a few years now.
