This is a great site. I often fall off the erg in January. School starts up for me and my daughter and it takes a lot of time just to keep everything going. SO late nights and extra stuff to do and I am "out of time" to exercise. BUT this is NOT good! I have to keep my health to do all the other cra...

Flock back to the forum for the JVTC

Thanks for leading the team. I haven't been on the forum since last January! My goal is 50 K a week. I finished the HC 200K for the first time in four years. The good news is I have kept off the 40 pounds I lost two years ago! The key was to change my eating habits for a lifetime and not diet in the...

Sorry to hear you are ill. Yucky. The first two weeks of January were tough at work and I only rowed on the weekend. I did get into a regular routine of rowing Wed-Friday at 5:45 AM and at least once on the weekend. I too would like to add something. Perhaps weights? I maintained my weight at 10lb o...

Hang in there with the Row Pro people, it is a small operation with a very special product for a limited market. Pete is fabulous and usually quite quick to get things resolved. Send another email. Assist @ digitalrowing.com or support @ digitalrowing.com (I would use both addresses.)

That's GREAT! We celebrate New Years at 9 PM. (We figure it is midnight somewhere in the world.) We set off fireworks, open the door to let the new year in, bang pans etc. The neighbors have figured out what's going on after 4 years! (My daughter is almost 8 and it worked best to have an "early" new...

Resolutions in a Row

Lori had a great idea--post our resolutions. I agree. I do much better when I put them in writing--a commitment to myself. I still need to think about it. I still have 39 hours  My HC goal was to maintain my weight loss through January 1 and then work to lose more by spring break. :) Well, I de...

I like that idea. I find putting my resolutions in writing really helps me. I'll put my exercise/JVTC resolutions here. I WILL row 5x a week of at least 30 minutes. I am also interested in looking back at what I wrote last year and reflect on what worked and what did not! I'll start a new thread--Re...

We should have a few kick off rows on Row Pro on January 1!

One of them should be for the youngsters! I know Danae (age 7) would row Nicholas (age 7). How "early" would you want to set up a kid's row?

Row Pro as a reward

Row Pro as a gift? A FABULOUS reward! You will love it! There are a bunch of us who LOVE to get beginners started. So don't be shy about trying the on-line component of Row Pro. TVChikee-I don't know what time zone you are in... There are often rows with "All Welcome" listed around 4:30 PM Eastern S...

I like Ducks and Friends Together. I suggest posting the whole name as well as the abbreviation! :) Although, many people do think I am DAFT for rowing, especially on high meter competitions.

Excellent Schenley! Thanks for volunteering to captain the team! The first JVC was two years ago, so you have the whole history. Sign me up! I don't remember what information I have to give you... but post directions for us. I had a brilliant name for the team but by the time I got this web page I f...

Well done! I made it too. Mel, make sure you don't do too much and burn out. Long-term and consistent and steady is the way to to. Anna, one year I just finished the 100K and CELEBRATED. I find it quite motivational at any distance. (I had asked my hubby to put the erg on the roof of the car but he ...

Keep up the good work! For those of you who are new, take a bit of time every week or so to check your technique. I watched the DVD and had my hubby watch it and critique my technique... It prevents a lot of problems as time goes on! You can start by focusing on parts of the stroke and adding more p...
