Re: C2 Logbook Distances
Life on the gerontological frontier ain't for sissies! Will the ROM increase with use? It is supposed to. My sole recent contribution to the WTHYDT thread was a post a few days ago that listed the items of my PT program. Can't find it now. I posted it mainly to see if anyone would pick up on the fa...

Re: C2 Logbook Distances
Bob, I don't know how accessible is the handle of a Dynamic in either stowed or ready position, assuming that it has those positions similar to a static C or D. On a model D, I can't retrieve the handle from up aganst the chain gate with my feet in the heelcups. I happen to use a very long-handled ...

Re: C2 Logbook Distances
All my sessions, whether set distances and times or random, are entered using the c2 utility and are classified as 'verified'. Regards, Joe Yeah, my bad. I was forgetting the fact that all erg pieces entered in the Logbook from a Logcard (or RP) are verified - just not made public like the select f...

Re: C2 Logbook Distances
The only "losing" result is 0 meters per annum. I have gotten a damn good start on that one this year. How long will it take to get my T-shirt? I actually got on my erg once this year and got my feet in position O.K. - but couldn't get ahold of the handle. Maybe I might try once again, using a hook...

Re: Ketogenic Diets
I respect your choices Shawn, but there are "many roads to Rome" and yours is not the only one. Nor have I ever seen anything in his posts that indicated that he claims it is. I believe that you and others who read this thread regularly are aware of that as well. JAG seems to have jumped to the con...

Re: C2 Logbook Distances
The current state of the 'honor board,' with three British girls claiming 30,000,000 metres each during the past day, is beyond ridiculous. http://log.concept2.com/challenges/season/2017/10000 Has the time arrived when only verified distances should be considered valid? Regards, Joe One problem is ...

Re: Low rated rowing
When should i then increase the pace? And does the same thing work for ex in AT training. Fx 3 x 6' if i should hold the same SPI my pace should be around 1:58 and i cant do that. I don't understand where you get the 1:58. That would be 213.0 watts. The AT power based zone(as opposed to HR based) i...

Re: Low rated rowing
Look at the DPS or distance per stroke, this is more relevant and its actually something that is recognized as a variable. You cannot divide the average power on the monitor by the rating and gets Watts per stroke, its not that simple. It is not Watts per stroke, Carl, it is watt-minutes per stroke...

Re: Low rated rowing
I have read in alot of thread that in low rated work you should be able to train with the same spi that at the faster pace. Should i focus on this when training or should i just focus on rowing alot in UT1? My last 2K was 7:38 236,2 watt. Its around 8,1 watt pr stroke and in 20r it would be 163 wat...

Re: relatively new, some questions
Thanks G-dub James and Aussieluke -Thanks but............ I feel like you are explaining the 'why' behind low rating. I get the why..... I am asking a 'how' question. Specifically..... would one expect to train / aim for the same power on a low rate pull vs a free rate one? or do you train with a l...

Re: Drag Factor
I wonder if it is better to think of drag as the 'viscosity' of the virtual water, than as gearing on a bike...? Definitely! Even same term is used. Drag, as used for the erg, was probably based on the equivalent used for the effect of water slowing the boat. Increasing the damper setting on the er...

Re: Lifting my heels to high?
Hjs: With overcompress do you mean that I lean back to much at the end of the drive? Your knees are too far forward at the catch. Your shins should not go past vertical. It is no wonder that your heels lift a bit. Also, you use an energizer bunny stroke, i.e. very little difference in the timing of...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
For the last 2 weeks (and a week or so before that to get used to the program), my training has consisted of the following: 1. Ankle pumps. 3 sets, 10 reps each. 2. Quad sets. 3 sets, 10 reps each, 5 second hold. 3. Heel slides. 3sets, 10 reps each. 4. Short arc quads. 3 sets, 10 reps each, 5 second...
