I've done it :D :D Finished today and I am pretty chuffed. Wasn't sure how I'd do when I started out, being new to it and all. Hope to keep the rowing up - now I'm getting my own machine, and the January challenge should help with that. Just need to find a team.

I'm still going strong(ish). The run up to Christmas is slowing me down, as I become more of a taxi service for my 2 children. I managed another 1/2 marathon - just felt like it, and I had had to miss a few days because of the aforementioned. I've just under 3000 metres left to go, and I will so enj...

I've just completed my first half marathon :D :D and feel on top of the world. Just wanted to see how it would feel and went at a Sunday drivers pace, until I realised I could do it in under 1hr50m if I started moving it. It coincided with me going over the halfway mark, so I'm now on the homeward s...

Where to set the damper control?

I am pretty new to rowing, but already feeling competitive - with myself anyway. The thing is, is there an optimum place to set the damper control? I am setting it at 8 which feels comfortable to row at and have managed 8:30s for 2K and just under 46m for 10000m. However I would like to go faster ob...

I,m now umming and aahing about whether I would use it ( a new rower)enough at home. Most of the time I reckon I would - and I'm sure it would make rowing the HC easier, but then I wonder if I would just let the dust gather. Going to the gym is a bit like a coffee morning without the coffee. Also I ...

Hi There, I'm new to all this, and am going for the 200,000m. I,ve managed 71,000 already which surprises me, though the blisters on my hands remind me. I'm trying for 50,000m per week with a few apare just in case. I've already taken a couple of unexpected days off. A Cold hit me, and motiva...
