Re: Erging in New York or Boston

Things may have changed since I last looked but I couldn't find many places when I was looking for somewhere in NYC. However, there is a gym (Steel Gym?)on 23rd street between 6th and 7th that has a concept 2. Mostly a weights gym so the erg didn't seem tobe used that much. Only negative was that it...

I can't comment about the effect of rowing on running or vice versa as one of the reasons I use the erg is to avoid running but if you are interested in looking at the relative speeds of the two there is a thread here: http://concept2.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=19615&p=493332#p493311 In that th...

I was just a miser and stuck with the free option! In retrospect, the convenient option would have probably been better!

I'll add my support to RowPro. I just need to get around to updating it! Well worth the money. If you don't find people rowing when you initially go online, keep persevering as some people change their times and you'll find company eventually - I go weeks without company and then weeks rowing with o...

Rowpro is well worth the money. Although be prepared for the "RowPro factor" where you go faster than you intended as other people are rowing alongside (I often have a plan for an easy session and find myself going 5 seconds faster per 500m than intended!).

I guess I fit the usual story. Started well then other commitments made me stop (I think I've started the programme about 3 times now!). Oh well, not many distractions for the next few weeks so I'll be staring again on monday. I hadn't looked too far into the programme so I'm not looking forward to ...

I also sweat a lot but have found this case for my ipod touch to fit my needs : http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/entry/belkin-sport-armband-for-ipod-touch/ It doesn't show it in the review but mine is the "plus" version which has an attachment where the key is shown that you wrap the headpho...

For me the biggest problem was a lack of preparation in the last month before the marathon meaning I went off at what I thought I could maintain and got a nasty shock a way in! I did my first one back in April. I followed one of the marathon training plans for a while until I got bored with it, then...

I managed to complete my second million on the same day as my first marathon. I sent the email (and filled out the online form) and heard nothing. Was just thinking it was time to chase them up but interested if the policy has changed.

So what is the consensus regarding failing to complete a session. should you repeat that session until you can complete it then progress to the next, or continue for the rest of the week as if you did complete it, repeating the week until you can do all 3 sessions.

I'm interested in this as I started it last night. I think there is a forum post somewhere (I'll try to find it if I remember before I hit submit). A problem I have is that I did the first test and it seems to have given a fairly hard target (failed to complete the full number of sets last night. Es...

I've tried various headphones over the years. The latest is some Bose QC2s for flying and some cheap in the ears ($15?) for erging I picked up in the airport. They came with two sizes of "marshmallow" buds that you squeeze small to fit in the ear and they expand as needed. Cuts out all noise from th...
