I don't know where you came up with the 30kg.
30kg is the mass of a Model E, thus if the erg is on slides the inertial mass attached to the stretchers is 30kg.

I am referring to the herky-jerky movement of the seat in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTN_9msFKTg The current protoype does not have that setup anymore. The seat now sits on the main rail and there are bungies inline with the rail to dampen the seat movement a bit. C2jonw told me at ...

On a current model erg either with or without slides, there is a significant inertial element that dampens out unevenness in the stroke to an extent. On a fixed model, your body is that inertial element, on slides it is the erg itself (60-70 pounds). On the water, it would be the shell. On this new ...

Glad you liked the video Bob. Was excellent that you guy hit it off and that he pitched in to help you with your race :-) I had decided to video him in that race because his guy had made the erg jump rather vigorously on he first go that was aborted due to someone false starting. He made the erg jum...

What a great event! My first CRASH-B's ever! I first started on the erg about a year ago, and started with serious training about 4 months ago. I am thrilled with my PB of 7:25.8 40 year old male, HWT. My first CRASH-B as well and in same category as you. Not sure which bank of ergs you were in, bu...

what would be the best test to find your max hr using the rower (just do a 2k test and at the end check heart rate )??? see all this stuff about ut 1 and 2 and an. 2k is probably the shortest distance that will get you reasonably close, but to get the HR up that high is so painful that it is diffic...

Free Spirits has its own forum which you are welcome to check out:

Re: Slides Category for Crash Bs

We need to scrap the lightweight divisions completely and replace them with a slide categories for the same age groups. Why? To get rid of all the big lumbering giants with crap technique that still do well, just because of their size. Last time I did the crash Bs I was the smallest bloke to finish...

On my facebook it doesn't post into the news feed/live feed at all. Never has worked properly. I suspect it's missing a call to users_hasAppPermission("publish_stream") so it's never asked for the facebook auth to publish. Doesn't auto post for me either, but I don't really care as I don't really w...

A youtube that I think is related to subject at hand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqmt3glnEX4 Each of us was brought up with some expectation of what the ideal man or woman should be. The ideal that I think that many of us strive for is that of the Renaisance man - someone who excels in a wide nu...
