I did it. 25 days this month at 5000m or better. A couple of those days I rowed 10K.

Thank you for mentioning this! I knew I'd seen that interactive weight loss program somewhere, but I looked & looked on the (U.S.) Concept 2 website & couldn't find it anywhere. Now that you've reminded me it was on the UK site, I found it in no time flat. For other people who are looking for it, he...

I came back to rowing after a hiatus, also doing an overall reset of overall health/fitness with a goal of losing 60 lbs. of fat. (Just the fat, please: I need the muscle!) Thus far have lost 8 lbs. since Feb. 18 (some of it from water in my tissues -- I had edema, but activity improves my circulati...

Re: Like to Try Partnering
I am new to the forum, but I've been erging for about a year now. This should be an eye-opening experience. I have never kept track of how far I row. I just hop on and row! How does online partnering work? Greetings Lynn, I'm up for partnering if you are. I've not had a workout partner ever before ...

Mel, make sure you don't do too much and burn out. Long-term and consistent and steady is the way to to. Thanks, you're very right! Yeah, yesterday after that last day Skeleton Challenge push, I took a break. Started back up this morning, just now (sweat still pouring down my face) with some 500m i...

I finished the challenge tonight. Slept in this morning because it was a little later of a night than I expected last night, so I did my rowing after work -- some 500m intervals for ~2600m total, then an hour long phone call, then I just went ahead & pushed through another 30 minute row for another ...

Interesting thread. I'd just started myself wondering about there being a correlation between height & stroke rate -- I'm 5 ft. 2 in. & can't imagine doing anything other than falling asleep at a stroke rate lower than 20 per minute at a 4 or 5 damper setting. In less than month of having the erg, I...

The trick is to keep it up, increase slowly and don't just stop rowing for long periods of time or else you sink back SO quickly and hard to work up to your former level... Ain't that the truth! I changed my dietary habits nearly 2 years ago for diabetes prevention (had been diagnosed prediabetic, ...

I'm doing the challenge also but notice when logging meters in online log that the usual separate count of meters towards a challenge is not there. Usually below the total there will be in red the meters towards that challenge beginning on the date the challenge begins. I wonder who knows what's up...

Re: need rowing partner

I'm not in the exact same position, but I'm willing to be a training partner. Not sure what's involved in dealing with recovery f...

Skeleton Crew 2007
Anyone else taking part in the 2007 Skeleton Crew challenge (Oct 25-31)? Got my erg early this month, early enough that I felt capable to work up to what's needed for the Skeleton Crew challenge of 31,000 meters in seven days (not quite 5,000 meters/day). This morning did around 600 meters in a five...

Hey there, I'm Mel. Just purchased a Model D online — so I don't have it yet, but I'm looking forward to it's arrival. I've had my eye on one for awhile, but could only afford it today, thanks to the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend. Main reason is for health/fitness. There are a lot of selling points...
