Weight Loss/ Weight Control
Hello people!
I thought RPRG was 7th in the team rankings. I looked today and it seems we have fallen well off the pace. What happened? Has Mr. Adams been a member of Taff Attack all along? How does one consistently row that much every single day?! That is truly amazing. I have a hard time rowi...

Weight Loss/ Weight Control
Hi Everyone,
Anybody doing any interval training? If so, do you think it helps your speed and/or stamina? I know what the research says, I'm just trying to find out if anybody on RPRG uses it on a regular basis. It seems to help me when I hit a plateau--be it in weight loss or trying to improve...

Weight Loss/ Weight Control
Hello Everyone,
Just a short note to say "I'm back." I've been sick for about a week but was finally able to get back on the erg today for a 5K. Once I feel up to it I'll bump it back up to between 7 and 10K. It's time to move up a spot in the rankings.

Weight Loss/ Weight Control
Hello Everyone!
This RPRG group is great. I've lost about 3 pounds since I joined. Most of you probably already know that rowing early in the morning really kickstarts your metabolism into high gear. You will lose more weight if you row at this time on an empty stomach. Try it! I get up at abou...

Weight Loss/ Weight Control
Hi Everybody,
I was just checking the forums for some training advice and I came across the Row Pain, Row Gain post. What a great idea! I sure could use the extra motivation!
Short bio:
I'm 49 and have been rowing on and off, mostly off, for a few years now. I'm just getting over a l...

I have begun to experience some pain in my right hip flexor. Could this be due to bad rowing form? Am I pulling too hard on the straps? The pain actually abates after I have rowed for about 5 minutes. I have cut back from 10k a day and have taken more days off. This seems to allow me to keep rowing....

Rowed my fourth Half this am. Just did not have it. Walked away 3 times but came back to finish it. I guess it was just one of those days.

What do most people race their 2k's in in terms of SPM? Also, what drag factor is used by the average person?

B Sayyed, Kenneth
I was thinking about starting up my weight training program today after almost 8 weeks of nothing but erging. Instead, as I passed the three unoccupied ergs on the way to the weightroom I had a change of heart and made a U turn back to the C2s. After my warm-up I tried a 6000m p...

I was wondering what kind of weight training people use as (if any) to supplement their erg workouts. I come from a powerlifting and bodybuilding background but now work out almost exclusively on the erg. I know I will cycle back to the iron but there is something about these rowing workouts that is...

Hi Paul,
I guess my last question of rowing at a 1:50 pace was a bit vague. In no way did I mean this as my marathon pace! I would like to row a 5k or 10k at a 1:50 pace, not a marathon! When I first started out a 2:10 pace was very difficult at these distances, now I know I will get there eventu...
