Well, around 2k to go and I'll have finished the 100k challenge (yay!) but it's looking doubtful as to whether I'll manage the 200k (bah!) --and I REALLY want the pin! I've been averaging (roughly) 9k or so p/day starting on Dec 1, and to do the 200k I'd have to do a little more than 2 hours or 20k ...

Nice paddling, ducks!

Dorky question: How can I see how many meters I've rowed during the holiday challenge period other than manually adding my daily numbers? I've looked at the honor boards, but they only show who's gotten to 100k/200k etc. I could have sworn we could do this! I tried s...

It's feeling so GOOD to be back rowing this afternoon :-)

I was feeling a bit draggy & cranky for most of the day, and then I pulled myself together and decided to do a 7500m piece before heading out to greet family flying in from Africa (so excited!) --well, the row started off very ho-h...

It's encouraging seeing all these positive posts!

I'm behind on my goal of the 200k, but I'm still plugging away. Some days are harder than others; today was a bear! But on the positive side, hey, I'm still rowing :-) Plus, one of the pieces I've been doing is a 7500m steady row, and whil...

I'm also going for the 200k, but I'm not completely keeping up on my daily 10k (approximately). But I'm more concerned about maintaining my ability to row daily, so when my knee bothered me the other day, I just didn't row. Yeah, I fell behind a bit, but my knee felt fine the day after, and I rowed ...

Weight Loss/ Weight Control

Hello Ann :-)

I remember you too, and thank you for the welcome back and for describing your experience. I'm super impressed & inspired everytime I read or see or hear about someone successfully losing weight, because I'm super aware of how difficult it can be.

It seems bizarr...

Weight Loss/ Weight Control

Hi Heather,

I suffer from not-sufficient stress management myself, and for the last year or so I've found that focusing on my breathing and doing a sort of mini-muscle-relaxing meditation has helped somewhat. It's very basic --just focusing on my breathing, paying attention, and trying to...

Weight Loss/ Weight Control

Yum, lots of interesting posts to wake up to!

Like Dave (dmhayden) and Linda, I lean toward the `slow & steady wins the race' concept of diet, exercise, and weight loss, and that's because I've been told my whole life that healthy & serious weight loss programs take time, effort, and conc...

Weight Loss/ Weight Control

I generally dislike reality television; it's not my cup of tea, but I found the NBC show called The Biggest Loser to be incredibly compelling on a number of different levels. The artificial aspects of the competition were sometimes annoying, but the competition that each contestant had with themself...

I'm also making a late start, and it will be a slow start as well as I will be ramping carefully up.. I started rowing again in early november, at which point I had an unrelated but temporarily disastrous lower back injury. Then I left for Denmark on the 19th, and I've just returned last night.<br /...

Hej :-)

I'm heading to Danmark on the 18th for 10 days or so visiting my auntie, and as I'm just starting rowing again after a looooong hiatus, I don't want to take a 10-day break.

So! My auntie (moster elise) lives in Bråde near Nykøbing Sjælland. I think we'll have a rental b...

Heya FowlGrrls!

I'm returning to rowing, and to my log book, and to the forums after a long hiatus. It feels so GOOD to be rowing again! I'm a one-legged rower, and at the height of my rowing, I actually drove down to Boston and participated in the c.r.a.s.h.-b's which was a complete blas...

Thanks, Rick!

It's grusome humid here too, so it was particularly nice to have the c-breeze in place. I honestly think I felt more comfortable while rowing in front of the c-breeze than just sitting around. 5k done now, gonna do another tonight.

Cheers!

../Iliana
