Weight Loss/ Weight Control
Scanned this forum with interest. I lost weight successfully and painlessly (11 pounds over 3 months) following a macrobiotic diet. Those are the only pounds I've lost that don't keep coming back. Like the McDougal Plan, it emphasized whole grain rather than flour, and about 50% of each meal coming ...

My goal is to join the March madness for 20 days this March. This is a great goal for me this month than my usual 6k; it will be a challenge enough to squeeze 5k in each day. My only February rows were mostly 1-2k at a time, spread out over the day. 5k a day is way better than nothing. If I just squ...

That's great work, Shannon! How have you kept up your dedication over such a long time period? That's so impressive. I'm in awe.

Susan, thanks for your persistance as well. I've derailed myself over the last several weeks. There has been no shortage of stress, good and bad. My best intent...

Sometimes we move our model B to the backyard for a row. When the wind gusts, I can feel the difference. I forget which is which, but from one direction (the front?) it gives me an extra "shove", and from the other (the back?) I feel extra resistance. This must be similar to the wind tunnel effect m...

Another so-so week for me. I rowed 12k one day, but that was it. Was out of town a few days at the snow, but mostly I just wanted to sit by the fire, talk & read. Don't think I lost any weight, but held steady, and for me that's something I need to get better at too.

I'm having a hard tim...

OK, checking in with my moment of truth. I lost 1 pound, compared to gaining 2 pounds last week and losing 1 pound the week before, so I'm back where I started, but I didn't gain so that's good! It's lifetime habits we're after, right?

Rowing was pretty dismal. I rowed only 2 days of the ...

I've been rowing 9-12km most days in the last 2 months (many 9-12k rows) but I'm not seeing any improvements in speed since September. Mostly I do long steady rows, gradually raising my speed as I warm up, with occasional sprints. Recommendations?

Thanks.

Margaret
