You can't say that it's too easy without saying how fast you're rowing. That's like saying riding a bike is too easy, even in 21st gear. <br /><br />The faster you spin the flywheel (i.e. the harder you pull) the harder it will be. What 500m splits are you pulling?

Xeno, don't get me wrong from my last post, there are loads of people who could benefit from erging but who don't realise how good it is. Making more people aware that there is an alternative to running/cycling would not be a bad thing.

Well my abs definately have improved in 3 months on the erg, but they where hardly impressive to start with. I think perhaps there is a better way to bring out your abs than by using the erg (if getting abs is your only goal ), surely overloading them with weights would work better than using the erg?

Humans are designed for running, so I don't see the problem with running for exercise provided you take it slow at first, and give your joints time to adapt.

I feel weak first thing in the morning because the body's core temperature is at its lowest at this time. This makes it more difficult to get warmed up properly for a row, but then I am in the privileged position of having enough spare time not to need to row this early..
