Today I did 6x500m w/ 20s rest. I guess it's the same thread os your question- is the minimal rest even healthy for a growing heart, or does it make the muscle hypertrophy and prevent expansion as you get older?

Does anyone else think the lightweight part of any rowing team, especially juniors, is dying? Last year, we had 4 competitive lightweights, and we could make an 8. Male, 5'9'', 155lbs, 16 years old<br /><br />2k went from 6:44.8 1:41.2<br /> TO A<br /> 6:43.0 1:40.75<br /><br />No lightweight has broken 6:40 on my team, ever. For the 6k it's 1:48.8, or about 21:45. I'm on my way to being the fastest lightweight in my teams history.

Just did my 2k.<br />Stats : 2 months off 17, 5'9'', 155 lbs lightweight male, last 2k: 1:43.9<br /><br />Today (I believe 6 weeks later): 1:41.2 - 6:44.8<br /><br />A ten-second improvement. I'm euphoric.

There's no doubt- one has to get the split down in the first few strokes. Adrenaline is pumping, and a "cusion" at the beginning of the race is comforting. Weight Loss/ Weight Control
I'm 5' 9'', 155 lbs (71 kg) and rowing a 6 57 2k. I'm holding my own against some 6ft heavies. Is there too far I can go?
