FYI- I ended up with a Polar A5, which I got online at Sports Authority for $69 delivered. From what I've read (Consumer Reports), it is a good monitor for the money. There are so many manufacturers and models out there, that I just decided to go with the gold standard.

Weight Loss/ Weight Control

On my interval day (one per week), I do 10 X 200M with 45 seconds of rest. Other days (2-3 per week) I do a 60 minute session or a 10-12K. It has worked well thus far for me. I also do 3 days of weight training each week.

Are the chest straps very uncomfortable and do they lose contact with the skin alot? Sounds like the M32 is a comfortable product.

Health and Fitness

Training

I have decided to aid my training with the use of a HR monitor but there are so many models available (and price ranges). I do not need anything too complex, but it needs to be reliable. Any recommendations would be helpful, and well as functions in a HR monitor which are "must haves", and things to...

Weight Loss/ Weight Control

If you are actively rowing 6 out of 7 days, you should not consider yourself sedentary. You should base your BMR on at least the moderately active equation. I also think 4 lbs/week weight loss is too much, and a more reasonable expectation/goal would be about 2 lbs/wk. Starvation mode kicks in when ...

Weight Loss/ Weight Control

I am 6'1 and 225 and I have been rowing on a consistent basis for about 6 weeks and my has remained about the same, but I am losing fat & gaining muscle. I can telland because my clothes are a lot looser. In your case, I think you are not eating enough and your body is in starvation mode and holding...
