Training
I've been using the Concept for just over 2 years and following some of the programs in the training guide. At the moment I'm following the 110k a week prgram and intend to do a marathon in April. It's really "fun".

In my opinion all the stuff about heart rates should not be taken too li...

John

I'm just fascinated to know your answer to this!

Do you think that a fit person should, in a 30min test at Rate 20, be able to row further at an altitude of 2000m than at sea level?

He describes how he can break 9000m at sea level but had never been able to achieve this at altitude. He managed to do it and wa...

Not a lot to brag about but I set 2 PBs this week.

Wed. 7,588m for 30m (1:58.6) SPM 24
Today HM 1:29:08.8 (2:06.8) SPM 23

..and now I am absolutely cream crackered, maybe because I decided to sprint the last 600m or so and finished at about 1:41 pace, resulting in a balle...

Brian
Congratulations on the times and good luck with your goals. It doesn't really matter where you set the drag factor - wherever you feel most comfortable. There is no requirement to have it at a certain level. I think most people have it at around 3 to 5, which is supposed to replicate most t...

Weight Loss/ Weight Control
I would say you are best starting off with long rows - like michaelb says you can persuade yourself to get out there and do it much more easily. Like anything else though you'll probably want to break it up after a while to do shorter interval sessions. I'm doing a lot of long sessions at the moment...
