Shoulder Pain

I thought I'd check in on this thread, since shoulder pain has been the story of my winter. Around the beginning of November, the shoulder I used to refer to as "my good shoulder" began to ache, for no known reason. I had full range-of-motion with it. Rowing was OK and actually made if feel a little...

In my defense, I was trying my best to keep from fouling Paul. Unfortunately my right leg
I'm sorry if I inadvertantly suggested anybody was at fault (therefore needing a defense). Stuff happens...like an engine seizing up on the highway...sometimes you just can't get out of the way.

Sorry, Rick, I had my camera but I never used it. There were 3 or 4 others taking pictures by the time I got there (in the middle of the first heat), so I just stayed out-of-the-way. And I was under some pressure from home to return, so I bolted right after the last heat (missed the awards and the a...

I kept watching Flack's monitor while the poop hit the propeller next to him, and I'm sure he lost at least 5 seconds and maybe 10 during the commotion beside him. One stroke ended short when he bumped into Bone on his way off the erg, and then he had a couple of lousy ones, it seemed to take quite ...

Usually, when we evauluate the available alternatives, getting older is the best option. Hard to believe it sometimes.

rowpro

I use Rowpro offline. Only had one problem- and Digital Rowing addressed it immediately in the middle of the night on a holiday weekend. So no problems, actually. Benefits of using Rowpro offline, in no particular order- -training plans -automatic logging and easy export to C2 online log. -keeps PM ...

Right. Don't set up a fluid trainer, and it might not leak.

My wind trainer never leaked.

QED
Right. But the noise probably turned you into the complete idiot you have become.

The KK and other fluid trainers all leak, That's a generalization, not completely true. My Nashbar unit has gone so long the tire has worn a slight groove in the roller with no leaks yet. I think most leaks are caused by incorrect setup. You should adjust the contact so the tire just kisses the rol...

Ialways get the rear pickup cyclometers. They don't cost any more. How did you splice the wires together? Whether or not they cost more depends on where and when you get them. They are less common than front mounts. I always seem to buy stuff like this on a short fuse, so I end up buying locally, a...

I have a problem with recumbent trainers and bikes that others might or might not experience. It's bad enough to advise a little caution and experimenting before buying. On my regular upright bike, my hips seem to move around a lot more than most riders. I've found that seated in a recumbent, that m...

Around here, on the bike, when you "hammer", you are going all-out. It seems to be common terminology to both sports.

The opposite is to "noodle".

Anyone know of Treadmill or Cycle Ergometer competitions? Actually, yes. When I was racing bikes in college (1970's), our team ran roller races in the winter, as a training exersize. I'm pretty sure other clubs/teams did the same and still do, especially with the newer computerized trainers. I took...
