Hi, my Model D has over 700 hours and the chain is clicking. Can anyone recommend a reliable person/company in the area who can do repairs and maintenance? Thanks

Re: Rowing into illness
Google found this: https://www.webmd.com/cold-and-flu/features/exercising-when-sick#1 The answer depends on what ails you, experts tell WebMD. For example, exercising with a cold may be OK, but if you've got a fever, hitting the gym is a definite no-no. Fever is the limiting factor, says Lewis G. M...

Re: Rowing into illness
I've always assumed that unless I'm practically on my death bed, a bit of exercise won't hurt and will likely help. (Perhaps someone who actually knows something about medicine can speak up on that.) Thanks. FWIW, my layperson understanding is that when you're sick and push your body with exercise,...

Rowing into illness
I've rowed over 1M meters the last four months and felt physically great, but about halfway through a very easy hour row a few days ago I started feeling bad and struggled through the last 10 minutes at an even slower pace. That night I woke up with a 102 fever. Next day fever was gone but felt wooz...

Super stoked... target was <40:20. For those of you that are new to rowing, stick with it. Re: Strength Training for rowing / erging and health
But rowing tends to take us in the direction advised by William Blake: “The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom...You never know what is enough until you know what is more than enough.” I haven't heard Wm Blake quoted since college but I think this one is proof he had a C2! (I'm guessing a...

Re: Worth it? C2 Model D2/PM3/~300,000 meters/$550
That seems pretty reasonable. I got $650ish for my D with PM3 a few months ago. Also, last week I sold a PM3 on eBay for $125 the same day I listed it, so if you sell yours it'll go a long way toward a new PM5.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Yeah! I rowed a new PB of 7:51.6 in a 2k. It also hits the 50% mark in my age-weight group. ... Using the VO2 max calculator gives me a VO2max of 45.3, which is fairly good for an old guy. I puts me in the "excellent" category for cardiovascular fitness: https://www.concept2.com/indoor-rowers/train...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
139.6 500m. Beats a PB from 2007. Was kind of a "soft" PB because I didn't focus on shorter distances back then, but I was in much better shape and I'm coming back from about 7-8 years of an obese/sedentary existence. So I'm still very happy with this as I thought all my PBs were long in the past. B...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
HM in 1:35:13.5. Since I was only about 24k from 4M lifetime meters, I set PM5 for a HM, only my second one. Feeling overtrained, I didn't think I'd make it but ended up beating my old time by over 2.5 minutes at a slightly lower avg HR (per Garmin). I still had about 1600 meters left to get 4M so I...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
.... One problem here though is you did some 500's after the hours session.....they would have been over your HR cap of 65% and partly anaerobic...not purely aerobic so that would have negated all the benefits of the aerobic hour.....very bad idea as it wastes the fine effort you put in! Don't mix ...

Optimal wait time between warmup and TT or SB try?
After warming up for a TT or SB try, I'm unsure how long to wait before starting the piece. My pulse usually drops to mid 80s in a couple minutes but it stays there for 6 or more minutes, so I usually go after about 6 minutes. I'm not sure if I'm waiting too long and losing the benefit of the warmup...
