I think I have the answer to how Dwayne got this time AND Chad Williams's questions about whether his times are real:<br /><br />Dwayne Addams is not a human being.<br /><br />Think about it! Is it really possible that a mere mortal could pull a time like this? I THINK NOT! And did you notice that D...

First, lets review the physics involved with heat transfer. Heat passes from your warm body to the cooler surroundings. When that happens, it heats the surroundings (the air or your clothes), so you need to keep the air moving past your body.<br /><br />When you sweat, liquid forms on your skin. It ...

I think you've had a premonition that the entire CRASH-B venue will be abducted by aliens. Those "lab coats" on the "officials" were just hiding the symbiotic parasite heads growing out of their alien chests. And they were doing a lot more in that back room before the races began - 3 months after CR...

I just wanted to add my experience to the thread. I'm 42 6'1" tall and about 193lbs. Started rowing in March 2005 on a model C and got about 800km before injuring my back in early September. The injury came as I stood up from looking through a low wall panel, but the real cause was probably 2hrs of ...

Keep track of your workouts with the c2 online log and watch your times decrease.<br /><br />Row some of the standard distances and see where you fall in the rankings. Set a goal, such as "I'll get in the top 50% of each distance in my age group"<br /><br />Listen to music while rowing.<br /><br />T...

Weight Loss/ Weight Control
Here are some ideas. If you're in college, try removing food from your room. If the food isn't there between meals, then you can't eat it. Try finding something else that relieves your stress/anxiety, such as taking a walk, listening to music, visiting with friends, etc. Is there a way to reduce the...

Weight Loss/ Weight Control
I'm certainly no expert, but it makes intuitive sense to me that you shouldn't lose too much weight too fast. The long term goal is to change your lifestyle. If you go on a crash weight loss plan, then you still won't be living the lifestyle that you need to. So I can see how one might lose a lot of...

It isn't rowing related, but my all-time favorite was seen on a porshe as it zoomed past me on the highway. The driver was a woman about 45-50 years old. She was clearly enjoying herself with the top down on the convertible.<br /><br />The license plate read "WAS HIS"<br />

The muscle pain in your upper thigh may be back related. Having injured my back about 3 weeks ago, by Chiropractor said that one set of muscles reach from the lower back around the front and connect ot the leg (or maybe pelvis). These were very sore for me, and he said it was from the muscles trying...

Yesterday, I rowed just over 5,000 in just over 21 minutes. I mention it because I hurt my back on Labor Day (September 5th) and this was the first time I've been able to row again. Yippee!<br />

Set the PM to show your 500m pace. Then figure the pace you'd need to row to match your current best time for 30 minutes (Use the pace calculator on C2's website if necessary). Now do a 30 minute row and try to keep at that pace. If that seemed easy, then next time, try a slightly faster pace. The t...
