In all seriousness, under what circumstances would you concede that hjs has won the bet?
If the times I log in the various races this year fall well short of my targets, even though I am fully trained.

I haven't done any races yet.

This is again nonsens. This season has nothing to do with it. Althoug he now says that he will pay after this season.

I will again open a thread to tell the simple facts

Ranger has made 3 bet's 2 with me and one small one with Roy Brook.

The one with Roy was simple, he has to show up at Wirc and weigh in ass a lightweight to win. This was for 20 dollars. He did not weigh in at all so this one he lost.

The second one was a bet about last season. It was about his 2k that year, it has 2 sides, the one side was about 2000 dollars, if he rowed a 6.16 2k I would have lost and had to pay him 2k.

The other side was him being slower than 6.40, If that was to be case I would have won and he should to pay me 1000 $

This was for season 2008/09, last season.

The outcome was clear, although ranger did very well for his age in my view  he did not go sub 6.40 so I won.

He admited that fact and begged me to have mercy and give him a change to win his debt back. This is not made up he really begged! it was quite embarrising seing a grown man doing that

So I told him: "you have lost this one so you have to pay me, but I will offer you the change to win you money back and even double it. If you at any time during the rest of his life erg any one of your goals I will pay you 2000 dollars".

So in short, he ows 1020 dollars and refuses to pay up.

And if he does what is saying I will pay him 2k

He won`t pay up Henry because he is in that small percentage of men who weasels his way out of paying their dues.Iv no doubt he loves people getting riled and angry about his non payment of his bet with you and Roy but i think it goes deeper than that. A learned Professor and talented Erger he may be but not the type of bloke you would want to have a pint with. Mind you i cant stop reading his justifications and snide asides to fellow competitors so its my fault i suppose.Like all interesting/OBNOXIOUS people you cant stop reading about em!!

You'll never get your money because at heart he is a coward and will never own up to anything that might undermine his delicate ego.

Now if you showed up in Michigan, he might just cough it up.

Chillingly accurate. When he walks along the street, rats throw themselves onto traps and bull terriers walk in pairs!

Of course you will & you will post the results on here in an open and honest manner.

And you will row a 06:16 when you are 60.

And if by some miracle you fail to reach your targets you will pay hjs the money you already owe him.
Yes!

Yes!

Yes!

$2000 will come in handy this winter.

This thread is none of my business, but I love betting and trash talk and this thread has both!

It sounds like Ranger is approaching his timed rows which will tell him how close he is to his January 2010 2K goal. Does anybody around here live near Ranger, and if so, is Ranger willing to let said person attend these time trials? If not I don't ever see any resolution to the issue. No reported time will be believed unless there is credible witness.

Too bad Concept doesn't have software that would allow somebody (ranger) to plug his monitor in and have it webcast so anybody could watch your rows. Okay, anybody from Concept listening?

The Patriot Act for C2 ergometers?

But I'd imagine that at the CIRC or another local trial the results will be online rather soon after it happens. They posted last years CIRC results at least.

There are ways to verify times without a 'witness.'

Henry,

The self-advertising, obsessive failure will still owe you $1,000 when your body grows cold for the last time. But it is good that you are alerting all the newcomers to his predictable nonsense.

I have a better chance of making the beast of two backs with Tiger's scorned wife than this homunculus has of rowing 6.30 as a lwt.

ranger is has put many little pieces of erging on youtube, so it would be very easy for him to show a full piece. So that is no problem at all.
he also races a few times a year, those are witnessed offcourse.
But that's not the issue, he simply can,t get come anywhere close to any of his goals. So there is nothing to show.

Remember we are talking about someone who rowed his lifetime pb in his first race ever, stayed around that level one season and now simply slowes down every year. This year will be no excepion, it can also very well be that he won,t race at all. That also has happend before.

Tom  99.99 % change, but the mean little bastard forget's that he will face me soon. I would love the look on his face I can tell you that
